The Science of Learning in Education Centre hosts delegates from the Australian Schools Plus
On 20 May 2025, the Science of Learning in Education Centre (SoLEC) had the pleasure of hosting a distinguished delegation from Australian Schools Plus. The visit was led by Dr Tan Ser Hong, Research Scientist at SoLEC, who provided a comprehensive overview of the Centre’s vision, mission, research focus, team members, and facilities.
The programme featured presentations by Dr Joyce Wu Chiao-Yi, Research Scientist at the Centre for Research in Child Development (CRCD), and Dr Zhu Ying, Research Scientist at SoLEC, who spoke about the Science of Learning and its applications in Literacy and Mathematics. Representatives from Australian Schools Plus also delivered a presentation.
As part of the visit, Dr Eleanor Koo Wei Shi, the Centre’s Lab Manager, conducted a guided tour of the SoLEC lab, highlighting key equipment. The programme concluded with insightful presentations by Assoc Prof Yan Yaw Kai and Assoc Prof David Ng on “Teacher Education and the Undergraduate Programme” and “Academic Quality”, respectively, followed by a tour of the NIE Visitors Learning Centre.
The visit marked a meaningful opportunity to exchange ideas and explore future avenues for collaboration in advancing the science of learning.
